'Be the 95%' - a statewide responsible gambling campaign - won multiple awards at the 2016 National Conference on Problem Gambling. The campaign, which was sponsored by the Commission and its partners in Ohio for Responsible Gambling, won the Public Awareness Award, Social Media Award, and Website Award, as well as Best in Prevention Showcase.
“Be the 95%” is based on public health science and aims to reach the “influencers” of problem gamblers – such as spouses, family members and friends. In addition, it seeks to encourage dialogue at the community level and create a positive approach to educating people about safe gambling practices.
